Beside Hitler - ? (In some ways she does resemble EB in early days, which this postcard was, since it refers to Hitler as Reichskanzler, not Führer.)
Next - almost certainly Adjutant Wilhelm Brückner. Next, very likely press chief Otto Dietrich. Next, Heinrich Hoffmann and his wife Erna.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized we had discussed this photo before. But I couldn't find that discussion. It's not in this thread, but in Women in the Reich.

Just a thought ... If that wasn't Eva Braun, sitting next to Hitler, then who was it?

I posted that postcard long time ago... I have my doubts... a lot of people said is not Eva... I think she is!

Photo a little bit enlarged and "sharpened", the group was looking on something like a map on the table.

Signature: "Phot. H. Huber, 1077" probaly a former photographer for the Hoffmann company.

Pre-May 1945, they were encased in radiator covers — but I am interested in seeing photos of them without the covers, if possible.

It's visible in other photos too though hard to see amongst the detritus on the floor. I don't think I've ever seen it from that angle.

My dad visited there when he was in the army stationed at Vaihingen. He didn't say much about it, just that it was a big room. Of course the charred bones of a grand piano wouldn't have meant anything to him at the time, if it was still there when he visited.

I looked through my photos previously and didn't find any that showed a knob, but I will go back and pull up a couple that show the radiators themselves.

There was a great detailed analysis of photos like this one, showing the remains of the piano, on Wehrmacht Awards Forum a few years ago. The goal was to show that the Bechstein piano had indeed been present at the end of the war when the building was burned, to counter the claim of some museum or auction house, that they had this piano in their collections. The analysis compared the burned parts that can be seen to intact parts of Bechstein pianos of the model that was supposed to be in the Berghof. To me, it was a very interesting and eye-opening discussion.

Interesting claim. Grand pianos aren't easily looted. That would have to be one hell of a well equipped souvenir hunter!

I'm 99% certain that this photo is taken at Gaststätte Hochlenzer.
Not so sure it´s Eva Braun besides Hitler, wasn't her hair blond at that time ?
