It's not impossible that the painter produced multiple copies, Sassoferato - although he painted devotional subjects - was known for painting multiple copies and these artists would have to work to the market.

The Tintoretto may have been this one, which was also in the Great Hall (that is, I believe this was by Tintoretto - it is very similar to identified works of his).

I think it unlikely that it is a Tintoretto but rather a copy by a student of Canaletto or Bellotto
Check for the minor differences between the Hitler catalog photo and the two master works

Thanks, Max, that seems to be it for sure.
About the “Adam and Eve,” the version shown in the Hitler catalog seem identical to the color version posted, in spite of the convoluted history. But it could have been another copy, I suppose. There was more than one copy of Feuerbach’s “Nana,” which appeared in various places in the Berghof.

Not necessarily on my account. Surely the powers that be should field that one. I just think it's a shame to rehash here what has already been explored elsewhere. If only the missing images in the other thread could be recovered or replaced with more permanent examples.

Yes it looks like it is going to be a great read. Frankly, I'm surprised i haven't encountered this book before now. I already know quite a bit about the Berghof thanks to sources like this thread and Geoff's site, but I'm hoping to learn more. Can't wait to get started!

Yes, these are wonderful photos -- they belong in a comprehensive book on the subject of transforming Haus Wachenfeld into The Berghof!

I work in a company that was the main contractor on Berghof (and other Third Reich buildings and structures for that matter). I sometimes wonder, what our archives must hold in this respect, but I never asked, as I know this is a sensitive issue for my German colleagues. Also, apparently much of the archive was destoryed before the end of WWII by Allied bombing. But yet... I'm sometimes this close to elaborating on the issue, because I'm sure some interesting things could still be found there
