Yeah, my first thought it might have had something to do with the Bata's in Zlin, but not it seems!

Well if no-one wants a go, I will answer. It's the Masaryk University in Brno, which was the Gestapo headquarters during the German occupation.

I'm travelling in Asia at the moment and away from my photo archive, so I might pass on this one.
But Pavel, since you're Czech, perhaps you can tell me the story behind this statue at Prague Castle?

Judging by that certain part I can see there a lot of lucky people in Prague . You too Dave?
Sculpture is by 'Milos Zet, (Czech Republic, Prague) 1920-1995 - sculpture dated ca. 1962'
Cheers

Yes, but I want to know why it's there. Does it signify something? It seems an odd choice art from a communist regime.

There seems not to be very much about that particular piece but here is another work by Zet.
It's from the Kobylisy Shooting Range memorial in northern Prague; site of the mass executions as part of retaliatory measures against the Czech people after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942.

I`ve found just a single link about the statue and seems that there no certain reason to touch this, no myth, nothing.

I'm not interested in why people touch his penis. People do that with statues everywhere. I'm interested in why the statue is there. Thanks to Pavel for that article which explains the statue was outside some sort of youth centre in Communist times, and that Novotny had it covered up so it wasn't nude, but now it is nude again. And yes I've seen the statue at Kobylisy.

OK I think it's still my turn.

Since we were talking about penises, here is one. To what is it attached and where is it located?
