Thanks SuperJax for you image offer, and welcome aboard the best Forum on the net.
Here is an image of the eagle from the "Die Neue Reichskanzlei" book. I forget who designed this particular Nazi eagle

Anyone know if Palaisfan is still an active member? I saw some of his old threads and he (among many others) seems veeeeeery knowledgeable about the New RC...and I know that he was looking for detailed floor plans...in particular he was asking about the steps connecting the old RC to the new...so he should take a look at the book I mentioned or the pics I saved if it's sold...I think one of them clearly shows the floor plans of that area!
There were lots of other members like Ghostsoldier (loving that name!) and countless others whose posts I really enjoyed reading...so thanks!

Kurt Schmid-Ehmen, the factory stamp is very visible on the IWM eagle, sadly it is un-protected! Crazy.

Where in new RC was this eagle located... The marble gallery?b14ck wrote:I visited that Eagle in the Imperial war museum in London not long ago ... its bigger than you think

And what was its original colour? As it is now in the Imperial War Museum it's mainly dark with some light patches..maybe the light patches are where the deep bronze colour has rubbed away? It's very beautiful anyway...
Thanks,
Giorgia

Re: Reichskanzlei Thread
This is a 2 day sale on ebay...how authentic is this eagle? Can anyone verify that this is actually from the Berlin Chancery?

Re: Reichskanzlei Thread
Hello Johnny,
the problem here is all he has is somebodies word where it came from. No provenance.
It could have come from there but without any reference pictures, and looking more 'dishevelled post Napoleonic' than proud N.S. eagle, I doubt anyone in their right mind would pay more than 50 euros for a spelter eagle.

Now that is a very nice eagle. Sure looks like a Chancery eagle to me.

I'm still lurking here, although my work schedule is interfering with my research time!
I'm still keeping tabs on this thread....the RC is my favorite piece of Third Reich architecture, and I don't want to miss any new developments!
