Could this be the AH bathtub from the Prinzregentenplatz apartment (at the left side of the photo)? The famous tub where Lee Miller was photographed while taking a bath after Munich fell in 1945?

I took this photo in one of the basement rooms of the Führerbau during a guided tour in 2005. The tour was given by the head of the Musik Schule (who has since retired), and it included Hitler's office, the room where the Munich Accords were signed, large meeting hall, the Führerbau basement, Luftschutzraum, lower corridors that led to the Verwaltungsbau, etc.

I just happened to take a photo of this room ... I didn't even notice the tub. Our tour guide didn't mention the tub.

A little to add to Millers photograph.

Lee Miller in Hitler's bathtub

Today's tip.
On April 30, 1945, the photographer Lee Miller and Dave Scherman, also a war photographer and a close friend of Miller's, entered Munich with the American 45th Division that was liberating the city. They happened upon a dilapidated and normal-looking apartment building on Prinzenregentplatz 27, and realized, upon entering, that it was Hitler's Munich apartment. They billeted there for three days. Miller wrote her Vogue editor Audrey Winters:

I was living in Hitler's private apartment when his death was announced, midnight of Mayday. . . Well, alright, he was dead. He'd been an evil-machine-monster all these years, until I visited the places he made famous, talked to people who knew him, dug into backstairs gossip and ate and slept in his house. He became less fabulous and therefore more terrible, along with a little evidence of his having some almost human habits; like an ape who embarrasses and humbles you with his gestures, mirroring yourself in caricature.

Münchener Bürger Bräu

Post by SteveFBS » 16 Jun 2009, 18:25

Hello there! While we're on the subject of Munich, I thought some of you might like to see my humble collection of items from Munich's Bürger Bräu, which owned the Bürgerbräukeller. I started out just wanting ONE beer stein from there...then things sort of got out of control...I'm sure A LOT of you can understand how that happens!

This item was once owned by Carl Besl, who ended up being a well known conductor with the Berlin State Opera. It's one of my favorite items, and every so often I'll fill it with some great Munich beer and toast the gentleman.

The inside is inscribed "Allotria 14.2.96", as in 1896. Allotria was an artists' league in Munich.

Thankyou for sharing your great collection.

Yes, I think many of us can understand how it can get hold of you.
You have some interesting items including the menu and a stool.
Must have taken quite some time and you on the look out for the items :D :D

Outstanding collection! Thanks for posting!

I don't think I ever saw a Bürger Bräu item while looking at flea markets, etc. I did see a couple of Sterneckerbräu mugs, but the owners knew the historical connection, and their prices were higher than what I wanted to part with. Of course, now I wish I had gotten one. :?

Possibly ,but as the list is alphabetical ,is doesn't accord with any obvious arrangement that matches contemporary photos of the sarcophagi.
I'd be interested to see the actual arrangement.
Max.
