The Munich Thread
Re: The Munich Thread
From what i can tell they were only in the one Ehrentempel furtherest away from the Fuhrerbau, i cannot see any trace of the pipes in the other Ehrentempel in any of the ruin photos i have.

Re: The Munich Thread
Great finds, Sir Dude! Thanks so much for posting those. I've poked around the remains of the Honor Temples and love to see images that are new to me.

Re: The Munich Thread
Wow , these are the pages i used to find my way around Munich . I downloaded them and carried them all over, thanks for your hard work, as i see you've updated them wonderfully. One bit of weirdness happened while i was taking pictures of the Feldherrnhalle. A young couple asked me to take their pic in front of the stairs. As we got to talking the mentioned they were from Tel -Aviv. They honestly had no clue where they were standing, and were amazed when i showed them the printout from your site. Thank you for helping keep history alive. Josef.

thanks , these are good shots. Is the concrete airshaft hidden under those bushes ?
Re: The Munich Thread
Mixing it up a bit, here is the former office of Ernst Hanfstaengl, Head of the International Press Office, at Karlstraße 18. He was played by Liev Schreiber, in the film Hitler: Rise of Evil where he is portrayed as a noble (and decent-looking) character who almost despises Hitler which obviously follows Hanfstaengl`s own gloss over view of himself which he gave in his biography after the war.

I took this photo Barerstraße 7-11, thinking this was the site of the Supreme Storm Troopers' Leadership (Oberste SA-Führung).

Former site of Munich Gestapo HQ (Wittelsbacher Palais). The original building was destroyed in bombing in 1944; this plaque on its façade on the corner of Brienner and Türkenstrasse marks the former site, now owned by the Bayerischen Landesbank.

Re: The Munich Thread
Standing outside Munich Police Headquarters where Himmler and Heydrich had their offices. In 1933, Heydrich with some of his men stormed this building and took over the police using intimidation tactics. Himmler became commander of the Bavarian political police with Heydrich as his deputy. When this prison became overcrowded, the police established Dachau.
