But that's the watermark to show my students I was there!
This is the 1942 Nazi memorial to the Freikorps on Ichostrasse, since changed to serve as some sort of memorial to victims of Nazism; like most such memorials the symbolism seems to me so vague with such obscure symbols that it could mean anything whilst saying nothing.

Nordfriedhof- During a ceremony held in 1944 to commemorate those killed in allied bombing and Hitler in front of Troost's grave; the plot itself looks hardly to have changed.

Excellent Keir.

How I wish I had a teacher like you when I was in school, back then.

I think because the old part of this pic is colour it makes it look eerily real ... spooky. when i was in munich i was going to do this with the Ehrentemples and Fuehrerbau but i didn't have time sadly, hopefully these are next on your list.

And the old photo was taken in the same wet weather as well. The Ehrentempels are a bit tricky but I've tried to find pics that match those I took of its foundations. I have done the Fuhrerbau earlier but, alas, I'm in it:
School ends tomorrow (on the anniversary of Operation Barbarossa) and I'll have plenty of time to practice!

Site of the failed Munich Beer Hall Putsch, incorporating Schmitt's pretty crummy painting of the event.
