Re: The Munich Thread
I came this week back from a trip to berlin and it was very good and i enjoyed it very much. Next year i maybe want to do a trip to Munich.
Is this a recommendable city to do a citytrip? If i look at this thread i say yes, but a lot of buildings are not there anymore. Is it besides the WW2 history an enjoyable city?

Hello Cor. I spent a week in Munich 2007 in the old town and enjoyed it very much. There are many thing to see and do from an world war 2 era perspective, including the Obersalzberg in the Alps. I would recommend the Third Reich walking tour run by an American Professor who name I cant remember just now , but it very good, He takes you to all the old Nazi shrines and follows the route of Hitlers failed coup and more.

Some pics I took, the first is whats left of the eagle above Hitlers photographers door way, and where the eagle would have been at Hitlers office in Munich.

If you are touring Munich you must see this place, located just outside of the city.

Re: The Munich Thread
Hello,AHF. This picture from ebay is very fascinating, Munich citizens giving the Nazi salute as they pass the Feldherrenhalle. Failure not to do so could mean instant arrest at the hands of the Gestapo, or worse Dachau. There is a street that runs behind this building ( photo below) witch Munich locals would use to by-pass this area altogether knows as ' the quite protest".

Hi, Boby! I didn't noticed your question before.Boby wrote:¿Any knows what this destroyed building was?
Is not the Ehrentempel. It would be the "Braunes haus" (most probably) or the "Palais Degenfeld".
You were right: those are the remains of the Braune Haus. The pictures are taken from the back side of the destroyed building. In the background, the Verwaltungsbau:

This image shows the direction in which the pictures were taken and a the building I used as a reference:

Kind regards.
