Agreed ... excellent site thanks for the link
Re: The Munich Thread
I was hoping that this site might shed some light on the issue of the order of interrment in the Ehrentempels, but a review of the images shows that except for the obvious alphbetical order in some images, most have their own random[?] order - none of which correspond to the order in the Spiegel documentary.
One card shows only 14 of the 16 puschtists.
The search continues.

The above is the layout of the sarcophagi - the LHS group is the north temple & the RHS group is the south temple.
Sarcophagi 1,2,9,10 are on the western side of their respective temples.
IMHO the NARA photo shows Neubauer and Ehrlich at positions 9 & 11.
The photo on Geoff's site shows Von Pape & Rickmers on the south side of one or other of the temples.Note the strong light from the right [south side?] But which one? - either 2 & 4 or 10 & 12
North Temple
1 Körner
2 Rickmers
3 Bauriedl [Spiegel closeup]
4 Von Pape [note that he is next to Rickmers as in Geoff's photo]
5 Stransky
6 La Force
7 Pfordten [Spiegel closeup]
8 Wolf
The next picture shows that position 2 was for Allfarth:
And this one shows that Scheubner-Richter and Stransky were in the same Tempel:
Kind regards.

Thanks for that, but your pics have shot me down in flames.
They would seem to refute my contention that the Spiegel naration somehow reflects the position of the sarcophagi.
Using the photos only, we have:
7 - 8 - - - - 15 - 16 ......................E
5 - 6 - - - - 13 - 14 ................. N......S
3 - 4 - - - - 11 - 12 .....................W
1 - 2 - - - - 9 - 10
From your photos
AllFarth is at position 2
Richter and Stransky are adjacent
Scheubner-Richter is at position 14 or 6
Stransky is at position 16 or 8
From the NARA photo
Neubauer and Erlich? are adjacent
Neubauer is at position 9
Erlich? is at position 11
From Geoff Walden's site
Rickmers and V Pape are adjacent
Rickmers is at position 10 or 12 or 4
V.Pape is at position 12 or 14 or 6 [not at 6 if Richter is at 6] [not at 14 if Richter is at 14]
We still have a way to go
Bests

Re: The Munich Thread
Speaking of the Ehrentempels, does anyone know the firm responsible for building them?

Troost designed them and were subcontracted out to be built.

Re: The Munich Thread
Thanks, Erich...BTW, does anyone know if the original blueprints still exist, or if there are reproductions available? Or in a reference work, maybe?ErichS wrote:Troost designed them and were subcontracted out to be built.

Re: The Munich Thread
I thought at first this would show some of Troost's drawings of the Ehrentempels but , no.ghostsoldier wrote: Thanks, Erich...BTW, does anyone know if the original blueprints still exist, or if there are reproductions available? Or in a reference work, maybe?
Rob
But there are photos of many of his drawings of other buildings.
These are photos from a book which you can buy for $33,500

This links to an online book "Hitler's State Architecture" including a discussion on the Ehrentempel .[page 58]
Troost's style was known as "stripped classical".

Re: The Munich Thread
Troost also designed the Mahnmal as well.
