Re: Hitler portrait photos
Who is that in the background of the photo in AH's Berghof office (under the Sofie Stork lamp)??? The Hoffmann postcard, or the other views taken at the same occasion, don't show anyone else in the office.

Re: Hitler portrait photos
That image is faked Geoff.
Everything is completly wrong. The man has the wrong suite, the wrong haircut for the time period.
Furthermore, the figure is to small, he should have been bigger on this position in the photograph.
And last, it is clearly visible that the image of the man is taken outside. The image from him was taken on
a sunny day. The light on the top, and on the top side of his shoulder is bright sunlight. Not the dimmed light
given in the room. The light on AH is comming straigth from the right side of the image, see his suite and face
while the light from the photoshoped man is comming from straight above.

Original image of AH's Office Hitler in His Berghof OfficeChristopherPerrien wrote:First photo has a lapel pin. Any idea what it is?( It looks like a DVG? badge, not a NSDAP) From what I have seen of Hitler; He never wore any insignia/medal/pin/accoutrement without statement, over the years.

Re: Hitler portrait photos
Different pic, than the one I was talking about. In reference to the other photo after looking at many early NSDAP badges , that is what it is, not a "sympathy/support" badge as I suspected earlier.

Re: Hitler portrait photos
Hans, yes, this is all apparent ... I didn't mean to imply that I thought that really was a period person back there. I should have asked - Why would someone fake this common image like this? Were they actually trying to make it look like some specific person back there, and if so, WHO (that was the "who" that I meant)? Has anyone ever seen another fake like this?*NL* wrote:That image is faked Geoff.

Re: Hitler portrait photos
There were/are several other low quality "shopped" photos showing Hitler with a variety of people , done to cast doubt among Hitler supporters. Photos showing him with Jewish newspaper men, capitalists , communists , criminals, monarchists, etc. These were done by opposing political parties before Hitler seized total power and wiped them out. IIRC, there are some of these photos in "The Coming of the Third Reich" Vol 1 - Evans.
Others were done by various Allied psyops teams for similar reasons during the war, to destabilize relations among the Axis Allies.
However ,I can't say who that is supposed to be in that photo, or even if the altering is contemporary to the time, as I don't recall seeing this particular one before or in the Evan's book.

FYI:
For all my Forum friends if you have $15,000— $20,000 you can have your own collection of real H. Hoffmann images of Hitler.

Wow. What great photos. I've never seen ANY of them before. It gives a much better sense of how Geli Raubal actually looked.Johnnyrocket wrote:FYI:

Re: Hitler portrait photos
Geoff, was there really any need?
Re: Hitler portrait photos
Very good find Johnny, generally speaking via Google images there really is just a few different photos of Geli but Hoffmann appears to have taken many of her. Some good unseen photos of Hitler and the era in general, quite a tad bit expensive though...Johnnyrocket wrote:FYI:

There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of places that sell photographs, postcards and posters all that much to be honest.
