That almost looks like a still photo from a movie!

I think it was from the recent movie "Downfall" (Der Untergang) Great movie wasn't it. :)

Seen it 3 times myself.

I thought so! :) It looks a lot like Bruno Ganz....and yes, I have watched it about 3 times, also! It's a great movie; the soundtrack is equally haunting...I listen to it at work all the time.

This is a very good German post card site with some formal portraits I've never seen before.

Nice close up of Fredrick the Great painted by Anton Graff 1736—1813.

Sorry, this photo has been published in many books. Not rare by any means.

Nice image of Göring. isn't it funny how the hunter eventually became the hunted.

Book Cover.jpg
Here's one we have never seen before. Possible prototype for a future book cover. Composite from various vintage WWII images.

Hi Johnny, yes great movie, have it on DVD and watch it frequently, UNFORTUNATELY there are several simple errors which could have been avoided with an extra bit of research.

to name a few,
Otto Gunsche is shown as a dark haired person whereas it is clear from contemporary images he was Blond!
The final suicides of Generale Hans Krebs and Burgdorf are shown as happening at the same time, krebs commited suicide, all contemporay accounts indicate the Burgdorf was part of the last breakout and died possibly on the Wiedammer bridge and didn't commit suicide in the bunker, i'm sure that the soviets would have exibited his body as they did with Kreb's.
Fegeliens rank insignia is wrong

regards
