My favourite portrait of Hitler. Posted elsewhere on this forum and recently offered for sale.

This is the best and most informative site on "Adolf Hitler Portraits" on the net.

Max do you have any details regarding the sale of the painting shown?
I remember this one billed as a 'Painting retrieved from the Berghof' some time ago. I also liked it and will be painting a replica shortly.

I do know that it was part of the collection of John Horn and that Malcolm Fisher had it for sale. What happenned to it, I don't know. It was one of the few authentic pieces discussed in the thread at
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... collection
Certainly a beautiful piece.

Thanks for the reply Max, that's the thread I remember the portrait from. So it did turn out to have been hung at the Berghof? By the way I'll post a pic of my replica painting on here when I'm done, I'm using the same Hoffman photograph to paint it from as the original.

That I'm afraid I don't know, but it was a genuine painting from the era.

This is the photo that the painting at the top of this page is based on.

Someone should write a book about why Hitler always posed with his hands or his cap over his genitals.

Here's a real nice rendering of the (Big-Boy) H. Göring. Love these portraits, and will share them when I find a unique one that has not been seen much.

Is that a contemporary portrait, or a recent one?
