Picture of Goebbels Villa behind the US embassy
I am looking for a picture of the Goebbels Villa (Koeniggraetzer Str. 21/Hermann-Göring-Str. 20) which was just behind the US embassy (Pariser Platz 2).

This is said to be Goebbels house in Berlin. In need of a little attention apparently.
If its the house you ask for I dont now though, maybe its the one at Babelsberg.

Thanks a lot. As far as I know, Goebbels had no villa in Babelsberg. He only had a villa in Schwanenwerder (see attached photo, source: flickr). But the Schwanenwerder villa looks totally different. So your photo might be the right one.

Sorry, the attached picture is Goebbels villa at Bogensee, North Berlin-area. To rent! It was used as a school for leading FDJ-members (Wilhelm Pieck Hochschule) and the area was extended with large buildings.
The Villa at Schwanewerder (nr. 8-10 Inselstrasse) is destroyed, only the home for the guards and servants exist and is in use by the Wasserpolizei (Wannsee)

Thanks for your informations.
Yes, you´re right. Goebbels "bought" the Schwanenwerder property Inselstr. 8/10 (far under real value) in 1935 from bank-manager Oskar Schlitter. In 1938 he also "bought" the neighbour property from the emigrated bank-manager Samuel Goldschmidt. In August 1943 he moved from there with his family to Bogensee at the Wannsee area in Lanke. Maybe somebody has a photo of the villa at Schwanenwerder.

You can find some Goebbels Schwanenwerder home pictures on this thread on a huge picture source I found today, not the whole house though: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 4&t=154680

I was once told in Berlin that this was Goebbels old residence. Not far from Wannsee.

Have a look at this thread http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=145819 There's a good 'how to' on posting pictures here.
Cheers.

Did someone say the place was for rent? I would love to rent it, perhaps even buy it. If you could would you please send me the company or individual to contact.

New to this. But I've found this photo. Seems that the villa - or a part of it - is quite clearly seen to the right of the US Embassy...

Schlitter and Goldschmidt. Hmm, I'm sure he got those properties far below market value due to his negotiating skills.AlainDucasse wrote:Thanks for your informations.
