FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
Re: FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
Pavel,
Two different bunker's as you say, with some distances between them, I doubt that they both were part of Bärenhöhle. Question is, which one is the real thing? And the Katyn forest right in the middle, I really don't know what to Think. Would be nice to see a layout of the whole Bärenhöhle komplex.

Here is a interested link about Bärenhöhle.

This is supposed to be Fieldmarshall Kluge's HQ in Smolensk. Anyone know where it's located? Presumably somewhere around Bärenhöhle?

Does anyone have a map of FHQ Waldwiese? Just outside Glan-Munchweiler. It was blown up by the americans after the war but I wonder if someone know the status of the site today.

Re: FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
Hi Makarov,
Il will try to translated the french text here above, but I will ask you for your apoliges for my poor english, because it's my schoolenglish and that's far away. Here we go!!
The railway tunnel located at St. RIMAY is 509 m long and was erected in 1881.
The tunnel was to be used in case of an aerial attack during the Montoire conference on 22nd of october till 24th of october 1940. (Pétain/Hitler)
In 1943, the tunnel was chosen for the instalation of an german whitdraw HQ. Th tunnel was closed by two (2) big armored doors.
Two (2) blockhauses (still in place) must assume the defence of the tunnel on the north side.
A train (transformed like an office) with all sorts of transmission and communication facilities was staying there during several months. A litlle garrissson stay also there.
Beside the tunnel (at +/- 800 m) we are still able to see the rests of the electric room and the telephone room who was in direct connection with Berlin.
Some rests of AA batteries, in the vicinity of St.RIMAY, VILLAVAL, .............are whitnesses of the HQ who pratically never served.
Suddenly, the tunnel was never attacked by air raids.
The sentences below are just a warning notice. They tell the visitor that the tunnel is located on an non dessafected railway line and that it is the property of the SNCF (French Railway society)
Hope it helps
Kindly regards from Belgium
Prosper

The Fuhrerbunker at FHQ Brunhilde just outside Angerville, France, is as far as I know fenced off but does anyone know if the whole area in which the bunker is located is accessible or not?
Re: FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
I Believe there were Three Concrete bunkers built at FHQ Waldwiese which were destroyed by the Americans in 1945. Small and hard to find fragments of the bunkers still exists and I wonder if someone has any Pictures of these and approximately where in the forest outside Glan-Münchweiler they can be found.

49°28'15.82"N
7°27'3.21"E
If you are going there, looking forward for a pictures. I remember, someone writes something about steel doors, tunnel or something like that. Next one, about just rubbles, pieces of concrete. So reconnaissance directly there is very welcomed.

Re: FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
Thank´s for your information Pavel.
My plan is to go there next spring to find out what´s left of the FHQ. Problem is that I more or less don´t know what to look for more than it´s something in the forest to be found. The forest area is not big, but big enough to make it hard to find anything substantial. Nature and time have certainly taken it´s toll. It would be easier if I had a map where the bunkers were marked out. In that case I only need to find one of them and the other two could easily be found as well. I can always hope that the forest is frequently visited by locals and perhaps they can guide me into the right direction. Small paths that at the first glance seems to go nowhere can also be useful at the end.

Re: FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
I bump this thread again as I'm looking for anything kind of info where to find the remnants of FHQ Olga which was located in the vicinity of the town Orsja in eastern Belarus. There might be not much left to see but anything useful will be most appreciated.
Re: FHQ never used or visited by Hitler
Nice photos of the bunker from 2015: German bunker near Orsha
As far as I can see they did not disclose exact location, just "near the village of Gadovichi".
Another article discussing location puts it "near the village of Mukhanovo" FHQ Olga.
Anyway, area of these woods looks like only 1x1 km, satellite Google images of the area are of excellent quality, so odds of finding this bunker are good!
