Good morning.
Has anyone heard anything more about the fate / future of the Hotel zum Türken?
My skeptical side fears that now it is sold it will be torn down. But I'm hoping this will not be the case, and sense will prevail in terms of preserving this rare historic survival.
Are there any checks or measures in place to stop it being demolished? Surely there must be historians who can defend its preservation?

Re: Hotel zum Türken
I note on page 88 of the 2020 edition of "Hitler's Alpine Headquarters" James Wilson writes that Hotel Zum Turken has aquired historic building status and is now protected by law. See photo below.
Does anyone know where this protected status can be confirmed etc., as I've heard rumours the authorities are working with the new owners to demolish the hotel at the earliest opportunity.

Re: Hotel zum Türken
The hotel zum türken is on the list of architectural monuments (ger. Baudenkmal) of the bavarian state office for the preservation of historical monuments.
https://www.gemeinde.berchtesgaden.de/c ... 2-2022.pdf
An architectural monument is a building under official protection that represents a self-contained architectural epoch and whose preservation is of the highest public interest. A building monument can be protected as an individual building or as part of an ensemble.
That he building is to be demolished is therefore very unlikely. I couldn't find anything about it in the german media either.
