What camera did Heinrich Hoffmann use when he took photos of Hitler?

I've just came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_og6cDaHWQ (20th of April 1933 Göring speaks about reasons why Hitler came to power) and the picture is the background is a portrait of Hitler taken in 1923 by his personal photographer Heinrich Hoffmann.

However, how on earth have they managed to enlarge it so big?

I can see it on Google images the largest here http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ICl5m8AR9Ew/U ... 8AF52A.jpg to be 1160 x 1600 pixels and and a closer zoomed in photo much larger here http://i4.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article ... 20Hoffmann which is 2197 × 1463 pixels.

The background enlarged photo in which Göring is speaking in front of is much much larger than this.

How did they manage to do this?

Even the famous Hitler portraits such as the official portrait in 1935 of Hitler posing taken by Hoffmann can be found for sale in such large prints but at ridiculous amounts of money.

I think photographic papers were available on large size rolls in the 1930's as well as very large sheet paper sizes. I know It is still possible to purchase traditional wet-process photographic paper on large rolls such as Ilford MG4RC25M 42 inch x 10m roll.

However the portrait of Hitler might equably be a lithographic print rather than a photo-print.

What matters for the large enlargements is the size of negative - quite decent quality may be obtained from a medium format favorite press photographer's camera of that time, Rolleiflex, and excelelnt from large format cameras

Hoffmann used a Leica IIIa (50mm).
