Were the Turks really considered as "Aryan" according to Nazi propaganda? I always thought there must be a reason Hitler never planned to invade Turkey.

I maybe mistaken, but I think Ataturk isn't mentioned in Mein Kampf and in Hitler's Second Book - even once.
And Turkey is only mentioned in passing.

There's a book called "Ataturk in the Nazi Imagination" that states that Ataturk's re-building of the Turkish state, whereby he seized power, defeated the colonial ambitions of the Western powers, forced the Greek minority out of the country and modernized/militarized the economy acted as a blueprint for Hitler and the Nazis and was a good gauge of how the international community would react as Germany followed the same course.

The trouble is, you could quote similar examples all over the world. I would suggest the events in Germany were part of a larger world-wide trend (and, perhaps its high tide, although the communist take-over in China is another strong contender for the title) rather than an exception.
