Intellectuals - People with Brains Lacking Blood Circulation

Mitteilungen für die Truppe
Nr. 185, March 1942

The intellectual is a person with a brain lacking blood circulation. The transition from erudition to action is alien to him.
Pure intellectualism makes the intellectual a fool.
So an intellectual is a pathetic parasite that has to be eradicated by all means and measures. In fact, he is nothing more than an eaten by woodworm old furniture. Wherever soldiers meet him, he should be fought mercilessly.
Warsaw 1942 by Franz Blättler
Was that really there - in that Mitteilungen or Blättler invented the entire story?

Sentences seem to be taken out of a larger article and loosely translated...
Eg. German text ends with:
Wo der Soldat aber anderorts auf sie stößt, kann man nur sagen: Auf ihn !

He wrote that from memory a few years later.
His main point was that the propaganda in those Mitteilungen was highly effective especially in the case of the wounded recovering in military hospitals (where he served.)
