Eva Braun’s parents final home.

Just finished the late Angela Lambert’s brilliant Eva Braun book again, my second read of it. We know EBs parents lived out their days at Rühpolding, but Lambert gives the address there as Wiesenstrasse 13. I wasn’t aware their house was known. Was anyone aware of this and are there any pictures known? Google not returning much.

It's a great book isn't it. I seem to recall it didn't get a positive reception by 'the critics', but I have read it a few times and always enjoyed it.

From memory, I think her parents lived in Hohenzollernstraße. Sometime after the war [before 1948], they moved to an apartment in Traunstein - see excerpt from the 1948 Musmanno interview with EB's parents below.

Wasn't Wiesenstraße the apartment where Eva and Gretl Braun lived for a while in 1935 before Hitler bought the house on Wasserburgerstraße?

Either way, I would also be very interested in seeing photos of inside the parental home, although I doubt any exist.

There was a forum thread on rodoh.info that said that Eva & Gretl lived in Widenmayerstr before Wasserburgerstr. That whole web site seems to be missing at the moment. It had some pretty controversial topics on it so maybe it got taken down.

Widenmayerstrasse 42 in Munich is where Eva and Gretl lived between August 1935 till March 1936 before moving in late 1936 to the Wasserburgerstrasse 12. Not sure if her parents lived in Traunstein proper after the war? Rühpolding is just 8 miles away so perhaps a mix-up? But Wiesenstraße is in Rühpolding. Just curious to know if the place they lived in is still standing. Think it was described as an old farmhouse.

Still there by the looks of it, and Herr Braun has upgraded to solar panels.

The paradise of the successful lends itself perfectly to a hell for the unsuccessful. (Bertold Brecht on Hollywood)
