"From the guest book of Hotel Lang, Frankenthal."

Post by JLEES » 28 Feb 2022 17:40

Hello, the postcard is very interesting. Looks like a promotional postcard for the Hotel Lang, Frankenthal, after Hitler stayed there in 1931.

What Hitler wrote I cannot read, only
the word "Freiheit" (Liberty).

Bottom left the writing means:

"From the guest book of Hotel Lang, Frankenthal." I cannot read what has
been written on the right side.

Can anyone make out the handwriting and translate into English?

James

On the left:
The will will find the way to freedom! [Der Wille wird den Weg zur Freiheit finden!]
A Hitler
Frankenthal, 22 April 1931 [Frankenthal den 22 / April 1931]
On the right:
In the company of our Führer, Hail to the free Germany! [Im Beisein unseres Führers zum freien Deutschland Heil!]

Many, many, many thanks! Must have been hard to read, but I'm glad you could do it. Hitler had horrible handwriting.

Are there just a few signatures below, "[Im Beisein unseres Führers zum freien Deutschland Heil!]" on the right?

Yes, there are a few signatures. They are hard to decipher.
