The style and with all the wood around looks quite similar to what it was like in the General Walker/Platterhof. All quite dark actually.

Inside the Berchtesgadener Hof was rather like it as well.

I stayed a few nights in the Berchtesgadener Hoff in about 1978. My room was to the right of the front entrance in the photo on the ground floor. It was a very interesting place to explore.

Just down below to the right of the door is the Gents.

Had cause to use them quite often due to the amount of beer I drank. I climbed through the window once.

Very interesting! Thanks, Chris! I didn't catch the date of his visit ... I'm guessing it was around 1994 or maybe the summer of 1995 ...

If he had squeezed himself through that small opening in the back corner of the garage, he would have been in the Berghof basement (which is still under there now).

Chris,

Thankyou for the link. I contacted the owner and found exactly what I was looking for
in answer to something outside of this thread.

His site is most interesting on lots of levels.

Thanks again
Annelie

Here is an interesting shot [courtesy of BPK]. Hitler and Mussolini[?] have turned their chairs around to, presumably, watch a movie being projected onto the wall where the tapestry would normally hang. I've never seen this before...

I found mine on German ebay years ago, before the euro dramatically increased the prices of most things.
