May I ask what the point would be to note all the inaccuracies of the movie depiction of the Berghof? Perhaps doing so would be better served in its own thread.

Own a piece of history...........

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Haus-Landhaus-ka ... 825wt_1170

Looks like Haus Waltenberg (Albert Speer's house) on the Obersalzberg is for sale - does anybody have $3.5 Million burning a hole in their pocket?
No reference to Albert Speer in the listing, it just mentions "an architect" as one of the previous owners.

Is that really Speer's house on the Obersalzberg?

I have only seen it from afar but it doesn't look like it to me?

I'm pretty sure it is - it is listed as the "Waltenbergerheim' in the book "Der alte Obersalzberg bis 1937", and here's a link to the current owner's website:

You guys are most likely right

..its only me I guess looking from the angle of the car driving
by.....didn't even have the fortitude to stop and take a photo...didn't want to invade their
privacy. Wish I had taken a photo now.

Pavel, since your an prospective buyer maybe I should go with you inside
and check out the interiors.

Albert Speer the son in an interview went back to the house and he said it was his first time
since leaving as a child. They never went inside which I hoped they would.

Pavel,
Have you seen all the interior pictures on the owner's website? WOW, what a beautiful place!

Maybe Geoff can buy it if he sells enough of his books

I would seriously consider moving (back) to Germany if I had the money to buy this house.

Its an beautiful place but I am disappointed.
The only rooms I like are the living room that Speer designed
and they haven't modernized it. The balcony/patio is great
and the views spectacular.

I was sort of hoping it was kept in the style of which it was designed
but then people have to live in what they feel comfortable with
and it is their house now LOL...

Why keep in the 1930 / 1940s design unless it is a museum and charge admission to all the fans that want to "feel the vibe of Speer"

It is a private home and as you said the owner should be able to chose what the want to do with it.

Wow, that house is gorgeous on the inside! I had no idea ... I've been on the outside, but I don't know anyone who has been inside (maybe Florian Beierl has, but I don't know).

I don't think my book profits will be enough to consider that house. :) It's supposed to be out sometime in April, BTW. The publisher has the final proofs corrections in hand.

Geoff, I hope the two books I ordered help in acquiring
any home you wish to buy lol....would be nice if it were
the Speer Obersalzburg home or even

Villa Speer on Schloss-Wolfsbrunnenweg, Heidelberg
