Hey Geoff, Crater....do you remember the big hole at Obertal? I think, this was a Tallboy, too, and was the reason of complete destroying of the Obertallehen....Greetings

Considering the removal of all traces of anything related to that era makes
one wonder what the officials would or think about the re-enactment that
took place there?

Hope they cannot refuse to allow this activity.
Sure wish I could have been up at the Kehlsteinhaus when the rest of those guys were up there ... it must have been quite a stir!
Yes, that would have been something to see the reaction of people.

There is no clue, no report about this meeting in the local newspaper or the local internet-newspapers.

I was very pleased just now to receive a notice from Amazon that Geoff Walden's book about the Obersalzberg has shipped to me! Glad it is finally going out, looking forward to reading it.

Was on the obersalzberg for a few days, found this crater with a few steel railings i think from the teahouse path. There was a plaque at the tea house so i may be the chap who kept an eye on the berghof and stuff has died. Will have to get your book geoff at some point looks good, busy week for me i visited the obersalzberg, fuhrerbau, tannenberg, adlerhorst, wolfsschlucht.

Hi muller1945,

Sounds like a great trip! What did the plaque at the Teehaus say? I saw a caravan from NL parked in the Berghof driveway the evening we arrived (two weeks ago), but it was gone the next morning. I assumed it was Henk's, but I didn't see anyone there.

Here is the destruction of the Platterhof main staircase ... I don't know why they did this.

Hi geoff, here is a photo of it for you. A nice place to put it by the teahouse.

Is that the memorial of the man that kept an eye on the Berghof and things?

He wasn't very old..shame.

Wonder how long that will stay?

No Annelie,

Henk, the gatekeeper is still alive (and i hope, he will be healthy the next 100 years;-)).
This memorial is for Gerhard G. from Dillstädt (Thuringia).
Greetings
Ralf

That is not the Groundskeeper, just exchanged emails with him last month which reminds me I need to write him. I have been down on medical stuff and hadn't got around to it.
