Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
The arches in the kindergarten seem to be much taller [or narrower] than in ramms first [subject] photo [from inside looking out]
For comparison I have manipulated another view so that the heights of the arches are the same.
Even allowing for slightly different angles it seems that they are not the same arch.
A possible explanation is that the subject photo arch is partially filled with rubble/soil, but this filling does not appear to the same extent in any other photo that I can see. EDIT
Perhaps it is the arched doorway on the eastern end of the building

Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
Thanks for your attention to detail, Max!
Now I don't believe that view was taken from the Kindergarten building at all (I had previously considered that arch on the end as well).
A more likely candidate, IMO, was the arched doorway in the Platterhof garage/employee building, that looked over the SS Kaserne.
Besides the general angle, the photo in questions shows the "inside" wall of the heating plant chimney - the part that was mostly inside the building - with the two clean-out holes (?) on that side. I think that viewing that chimney from the Kindergarten would have given much more of a side angle, while viewing it from the Platterhof garage seems just about right.
It's amazing, the "sleuthing" that goes on in this thread!

Greetings from Germany.
After a short research I found this forum and hope you can help me too. Is there a possibility to get the plans from the Berghof (this request goes mainly to Geoff Walden)?
Great work you are doing here, I am impressed and remain with the best regards.

Hi Triares,
Welcome to AHF!
I have sent you an email via the Contact link ... please reply to my email address, about the Berghof plans.
To everyone else ... There used to be a link to download the entire Berghof plan set from a university or government agency in Munich, but I can't find this link now. Did anyone else save it, and could you post it here?
Thanks!
Geoff

Hi Geoff,
That would be a great resource to have! A link to download the whole set of Berghof plans would be ideal here! I know that Tony Le Tissier published the floorplans of the ground floor and the 2nd floor of the Berghof in his "The Third Reich: Then and Now" a number of years ago -- I still have it in my library -- but those were the schematics of the original or early construction phase; it would be wonderful to have access to schematics of ALL of the floor levels of the Berghof, including the basement, the extensions and the Adjuntancy!
And BTW, Geoff, I wish you, your brother and your family all of the blessings of the coming holiday season!

Not floor plans, but elevation drawings
