Many thanks to Makarov for providing this text and visual update. If he took any photos of the Untersberg without the trees, as he described it above, it would be of interest to see those, as well.
As requested, taken september 10th :-)

Wow! This is great! Obviously someone there wanted to recreate the view from the Great Hall's window, as it was appreciated during the time of the Berghof. Many thanks, my friend!

The tree cutting at the Berghof site was discussed here in 2017, with explanation and photos (these pages and maybe 2-3 pages further past them):

When one stood central and parallel to the window, the Kneifelspitze was in the center.

At 11:25 in Eva Braun's film:

Thanks very much for posting this link! I knew the US National Archives had put EB's scanned photo albums online, but I did not know they had finally digitized her original films. Now we can view them in their original quality, instead of copies of copies of the NARA VHS tapes. But it would be nice if they had sorted the scenes out and rearranged them instead of leaving them all jumbled up and out of sequence as they are on the film reels.

Here is the Obersalzberg Ausweis of Hermann Göring's house manager, Josef Zychski. Does anyone recognise either of the two signatures?

We did a lot of work on the Obersalzburg at that time.
What sort of work did you do there?
Quite a bit really Craig. My Squadron was based at Berchtesgaden for at least 3 years - 1974/75/76. We rebuilt the road across the Gutshof where apparently, Hitler walked every day.

We built a ski lift near the Gutshof.

We also built a disco hut and a number of other huts for the US Forces there - AFRC . American Forces Recreation Centre.

Quite a lot really Craig.

We were based at Strub Kaserne attached to the US Army.

We rebuilt the road across the Gutshof golf course that apparently Hitler walked across everyday. We had no idea the Mooslahnerkopf teahouse was where it was, just into the trees near the road.

We built a ski lift from the side of the Gutshof.

We also built a number of huts (including a large hut for a disco) for the American Forces Recreation Centre / AFRC Berchtesgaden on the Obersalzburg. We were based at Strub Kaserne in 1974/1975/1976.

We were Royal Engineers.

I believe that this is at the Berghof, if not let me know.

Johnny R.
Not the Berghof, but the restaurant nearby, whose name escapes me.

Hello friends,

it is time for a new video:
EXPLORATION OF THE PLATTERHOF & SS-BUNKERSYSTEM ON THE OBERSALZBERG

This is part one of THE BEST documentary of the Bunkers of Platterhof and SS-Stollensystem that exists.
We translated it to english after it appeared on our german channel a view weeks ago.

Please enjoy part one:

After long researches, in 1990, the former construction manager of the SS- and Platterhof bunkers on the Obersalzberg could be located.
The 85-year-old engineer returned for the last time to the place he had left in 1945 and descended into the depths of the catacombs of the Platterhof bunker together with the camera team.
Josef Pretzl experiences the inspection of his former workplace like a time travel into the past and in his interview he gives valuable hints for the further exploration of the Platterhof bunker and the SS tunnel system.

On the basis of these important information the research team was able to succesed a complete inspection of the two bunker systems, which are published for the first time in this documentation.

If you like it, please give it a thumbs up and maybe leave a comment under the video. It would help us a lot!
Thanks for your Support!

Stay safe,
