"TITANIC" was a version where the bad guys responsible of the dead people in the sinking were British creews and off course the good guy is german!
Is in black and white and today is appreciated like the best movie with scenes of the sinking, it was the first film to show the theory with the ship breaking in two parts while the people who survived are looking with fear since the boats.
best,

„Kolberg“ was not a propaganda movie, per se!The last propaganda film was „Kolberg“, the premiere was on January 30, 1945. The Premiere was just in La Rochelle and Berlin.
It's more a historical movie.
O.K. you can argue that this movie may intend to stiffen the resistance of the ordinary people.
Keep in mind that „Kolberg“ was already finished almost a year before the premiere.
BUT „Junge Adler“ was the last propaganda movie par excellence!
It was „ordered“ by the OKL, it was a present-time movie, shows actual Luftwaffe planes....

Dear Michi,
Let me share here the info that I have about Kolberg:
The decition to make the film was of Joseph Göbbels in july 1941 with the best human material of Propaganda Ministerium: Veit Harlan, Director; Artur Braun, Playwriter who were worked in the films "Die Goldenes Stadt", "Immensee" and "Opfergang". The motiv of the film was make a propaganda film about the heroism of the civil militia. Göbbels said in a Promi that this film must be like "What the Gone with the Wind" (1939).
When the Playscreen was ready, Göbbels give officialy the order to make the film, the official date was on June 1, 1943. The memorandum where Göbbels ordered the film said: "The mission of this film must be based in the exemple of of the City in the title, to show that the perfect union between the Front and the backfront suppose a force strongest that any pottential enemy".
When Göbbels signed the order to make the film, von Paulus is no more in Stalingrade, Casablanca has been accorded the total destruction of the Nazi Reich, the german factories had been received 16 millions of Kg of Bombs and Rommel had been failed.
The recording started on November 1943. The production was in charge of the UFA with a cost of 9.000.000 of Reichsmarks.
Several dialogues were wrote by Göbbels like this beauty: "Is better die in the ruins of the city that fel in the enemy hands" or "They can burned our houses, our ground is here".
The music was under the responsability of Norbert Schultze, the author of "Lili Marleen" and an ardent Nazi. He wrote the lyrics using Nazi slogan like this: "People: Stand up and go to the fight!". In one of the last minutes, the daughter of Nettelbeck (Kristina Söderbaum) after she crossed the enemy lines to talk with the Queen Louisa (Irene von meyendorf) about the "heroic resistence" of the people in Kolberg, Schulze put a Liturgic chorus.
Göbbels made a last and private proyection about the film and said the famous words: "In one hundred years, maybe will be proyected again this beautiful film in color and show the terribles days that our are people are living. Do you like to play one character in 100 years and come to live again?".
The Premiere was on January 30, 1945 in the Militar Base of The Rochelle in the Atlantic.
And it was not an Historic film because Göbbels ordered change the History inside the film to not show the ruins and changed the events to glorificate National Socialism dialogues in the characters of Heinrich George, the Mayor and the young colonel August Graf Neihardt von Gneisenau (Horst Caspar) used complete dialogues of a Göbbels´s spechees.
The film used a lot of material like iron, woods, food, uniforms that had been needed in Germany but were used for the importance of the Film by Göbbels´s orders.

I myself am a huge Titanic buff. I have been since I was about 6. I am wondering, is this film still available to buy?Helly Angel wrote:"TITANIC" was a version where the bad guys responsible of the dead people in the sinking were British creews and off course the good guy is german!

best,
By the time the film was complete Germany was being bombed constantly. They did not want to show a movie that has so many people panicking to the german public.
I heard the films director was arrested and died in a camp too.
