Stone walls at Platterhof (Walker Hotel)

Post by JH » 14 Aug 2002 06:38

When I was at the Platterhof in 1997, I noticed several stones used in the retaining wall next to the steps that led down the hill at the back which had dates carved in them, some of them centuries old. They appeared to be cornerstones from ancient buildings. Does anyone know if the stone used there came from other buildings in the area? Any other information on this?

Also, are there any web sites showing the current conditions at Obersalzberg and it's buildings and/or ruins?

Thanks
JH

Well it's taken over 21 years for someone to give you a reply but here you go! Search this page http://thirdreichruins.com/platterhof.htm for "1591".
