Hallo,
I know that we discussed about Hans Suren in serveral threads before.
Now I`d like to start a new trial to complete the biographie of Hans Suren.
It would be very kind if anyone could help to find the birthdate, where Suren lived, if there are children alive and maybe if there are some historic films showing his gymnastics.
Suren published a few interesting books like:
"Mensch und Sonne" u. "Gymnastik der Deutschen" ...
I add some pictures to wake your interest!
Kind regards
Knut

I have not taken the time to read the previous threads on this topic. I trust the following is not redundant.

Dear Heraklit,
many thanks for your reply and the hint to the book. I will send some more pictures of Suren gymnastic. It`s interesting to inquire after this item - maybe Suren is the inventor of bodybuilding in our days?
With kind regards
Knut

Merry christmas HaEn,
I`m sorry but these pictures are not from Leni Riefenstahl. I took the photos from the Hans Surens book "Mensch und Sonne". As a little present I will add another picture.
With kind regards
Knut

If I´m not mistaken, the ancient Greeks did body-building.

It has nothing to do with this thread, but I remember that you were working on a television programme on Lebensborn. How has that progressed?

German gymnastic or Body Building

Post by Knut Hamsun » 08 Jan 2005, 12:18

Dear Fubbik,
you are mostly right but I not sure if the exercises the ancient Greeks did could be described as body building. I will send you a photo of two exercises Hans Suren did and it`s interesting that these exercises are current in our days.
Our "Lebensborn-Projekt" isn`t finished until today but we did some interviews and got some rare pictures of the ceremonies in Lebensborn homes.
Kind regards
Knut
