Erich2019,

you might also like to look at the RAD section on the "Forum der Wehrmacht" also:

Excellent, hard to top.

Thanks Helly,

excellent photos / postcards from the RAD.
Especially the difference of the early and later uniforms in the pictures of Eduard Helff.

Hans, What do you think about the colors in this postcard? The colorization is original from that time.

Helly,

I will answer your question later, let me share a link to the scanned "Zigarettenbilderalbum" from the former
"Sturm" Zigaretten-Fabrik Dresden-A.

Deutsche Uniformen - Album: SA SS HJ
Link to the PDF file, 57 pages, download size is 10.2 Megabyte: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... b0S4uV0qp8

Quality of the scan is good, the original album rare, quite expensive nowadays, probably mentioned here in the forum before ?

Weekend greetings!

Hans

Helly,
Unsere Uniform hatte eine erdbraune Farbe. Der Schnitt ähnlich der, der Heeresuniform.
Source: https://www.dhm.de/lemo/zeitzeugen/wern ... -1943.html

"Erdbraun" ("earth brown") was the official color designation for the uniforms of the RAD/Reichsarbeitsdienst at that time.

Not for the former FAD, or the NSAD, as far as my records show ?

Hans

P.S. Difficult to see, 100% of my "Arbeitsdienst" photos are b/w, with later post colored photos, I am pers. rather skeptical...
The german term "Erdbraun", I also remember from my grandmother...
