Re: RAD Generals
GAF Etterich, Arbeitsgau XXIV
Re: RAD Generals
One could literally fill a scrapbook with photos of just GAF Schinnerer, probably one of the most photographed IMO
Re: RAD Generals
A tired Hierl and an unknown GAF in Poland, notice they wear sidearms, this was within regulation for travelling to foreign soil..
Re: RAD Generals
Gwar,
usually these photos were labeled on the back, with a fountain pen, or a pencil, that's how I know it from my own photographic collections.
You should please take the time to post those labeled backs here as well, that would be very helpful, thank you.
An example attached:
Still in the 1950s and the 1960s, old RAD comrades often described such photos in detail on the backside, very certainly not without a reason...
I have dozens of such photos, especially from the post-war years, this little hint should please be allowed, no offense.
But a mass setting of many photos will bring nothing, pure waste of time in my opinion.
By the way, most of the photos from my grandfather's estate were hand-signed by former comrades.
Hans
P.S. I made the unrecognizable dedication of the time, to make the name of the addressee, my grandfather, unrecognizable.
I wouldn't do it that way today, but the scan is from the early 1990s.

Re: RAD Generals
Hans1906, I will make a note of that request, if you look at post #161 I did include the reverse of the photo, usually / sometimes if there is writing on the back it is in Sutterlin, not many today can write cursive let alone decipher it, on the other hand, some on these were in albums and all that is left evidence wise is glue and paper remnants, in the future, if there is any information added, I will compile that in the post. Gwar,
you can correct almost anything, or even read, count on it, almost anything is possible if someone is willing, to do so.
