SA-Feldjägerkorps - Who, What, How, Why, When?
Laurens, according to Dr. Klietmann's earlier monograph on the SA Feldjagercorps, Goring in his capacity as Oberster SA Fuhrer iin Prussia ordered the creation of the Feldjagerkorps. Klietmann provides his source: p. 278 of v. Engelbrechten's "Eine braune Armee entsteht-Die Geschichte der Berlin-Brandenburger SA". Rohm followed with Verfuegung Ch. Nr.1547/33 on 7.10.3 creating the Feldjager-Korps in Preussen from SA and SS men.
There are several accounts stating that FJK were involved but to which amount, is not known to me. Since they were still limited to Prussia, an educated guess is that their operations took place mainly in Berlin and other major cities, together with the regular police. I can't remember the source but somewhere I remember having read the description of "General Göring's private gendarmes setting up roadblocks and rounding up people". The wording private gendarmes can be interpreted as a referral to either Landespolizeigruppe General Göring or SA-Feldjägerkorps since they, as successors of SA-Feldpolizei were seen as a creation of Göring. LPG General Göring certainly took part into the arrests but according to Angolia & Taylor, did not participate in the executions in Lichterfelde (although the shots were fired in their barracks area!).botofogo59 wrote:So, I guess Mr. Millers upcoming SS and Police Generals book (Bender) will not have a bio of Herr Fritsch in it. Also, is there any info of the FJK in the Night of the Long Knives. Koehls book ^The Black Corps^ mentions they WERE involved.
The usage of FJK as part of the force assigned to suppress the alleged SA coup signifies that it was seen a formation rather independent from the rest of the SA. In this stage it was already more a state than a party police force, sort of a permanent auxiliary police. Interestingly, an FJK member was portrayed among the state police forces in a colour plate (reproduced in Angolia&Taylor book) describing the evolution of the German police and their uniforms from the 19th century to 1934.

Re: SA-Feldjägerkorps - Who, What, How, Why, When?
I just found a collar patch I think is SA FJK. It is white, gold bordered with a gold hexagon shaped disc in the middle with an eagle holding a sword and lightning. Is this correct?

Decription corresponds to the SA FJK collar patch.

A very interesting and relatively unknown topic, completely new to me, thank you for all the posts and photos...
The "sources" of the photos would be interesting, or are the images from your personal collections, most certainly not..?
