Hello Erich,

Thank you very much for the compliments as well as posting these fantastic photos of Third Reich Political Awards from your collection. My favorite is of course the Coburg Badge since a recipient had to actually be there for the most part unlike the Blood Order and the Golden Party Badge even though these are also very nice looking awards in their own right. I also like the photo of Max Sollmann from the Lebensborn Program.

Best Regards,

James

Hi Erich,

I agree, I made a small list in the SS/Polizei forum which listed SS Officers who were recipients of all three awards of the Golden Party Badge, Coburg Badge and Blood Order. I was just thinking that the criteria for the Coburg Badge remained the same while the award criteria was expanded for the Golden Party Badge and Blood Order which took away some of the prestige felt by those who were true members of the NSDAP under 100,000 and had actually marched at Feldherrnhalle.

Best,

James

James, I agree regarding the CB and and if the DAP had lost the "Battle of Coburg" to the Red Front there would probably no longer have been a NAZI Party and a second WW.

James, The CB was also awarded as an honor award to those who were not at Coburg such as, Franz Schwede Coburg and Martin Bormann's brother for example. It seems that Hitler awarded all these top awards as an honor to certain VIP's earned or not.

Hello Erich,

I believe you are right. If you take a look at the Recipient List of the Coburg Badge that I posted on this thread, there are SS officers who show receiving the badge in the Dienstalterliste but are not listed in the one provided by NARA. Joe Wotka also gave me the name of Fritz Weitzel who shows having received the badge in his Personalatke but not the DAL or NARA.

Best,

James

Hello Phil,

Thank you for adding to the list of Honorary Recipients, I didn't realize that those mentioned on your list were not at Coburg.

Best,

James

Hello,

Next on the list of Blood Order Recipients will be those who belonged to SA-Vilsbiburg during the Putsch. This is number 9 on a rather long list that I posted on page 6. I hope that once this list is complete, I can start a list of Golden Party Badge Recipients with Names, Ranks and Party Numbers from the SS and any other available resources. As always, any contributions and / or photos would be much appreciated.

Best,

James
