Phil,
Thanks for sharing!! Where did you get that? Do you know who owned that particular paper during the NSDAP era?

-While recently viewing the 1942 German Address Book for Bavaria I came across two men listed as Acting Gauleiters. Can someone tell me what Gau that Georg Traeg was running and what Gau Friedrich Schmidt was running or were they Acting Gauleiters in rank only?

Best,
Helly Angel,
-Thanks for your info but I was referring to just the Gau Anhalt. If anyone has the dates that the Gaues were renamed please post them or changes to this list please state your case. After doing some digging I have come up with this list:

- Magdeburg-Anhalt- (Also called Central Elbe)
-(1924)- Wilhelm Friedrich Loeper
-Gau renamed
-Anhalt
-(July 16,1925-April 1,1927)- Gustav Hermann Schmischke
-(April 1,1927-December 1932)- Wilhelm Friedrich Loeper
-At some date between 1929-1935 the Gau was renamed back to Magdeburg- Anhalt
-Magdeburg-Anhalt
-(August 22,1932-December 1932)- Paul Hofmann - (Resigned from NSDAP in March 1933 after spat with Loeper)
-(December 1932-October 23,1935)- Wilhelm Friedrich Loeper
-(October 23,1935-1937)- Joachim Albrecht Leo Eggling
-(April 20,1937-May 8,1945)- Rudolf Jordan

Gauleiter Anhalt formed 16.7.1925 with Schmischke as Gauleiter and Loeper as Deputy Gauleiter. It became Magdeburg-Anhalt 1.4.1927 with Loeper as Gauleiter

Phil,
-Thanks a lot for clearing that matter up for me, but why is it listed as Anhalt Provinz Sachsen in 1929? I will make the changes to the above list so that it is correct.
