I still haven't figured out if Hermann BUCHLEITNER is in volume III of the Gauleiter books or not? Here is a copy from the front page of the thread "Upcoming books - "Gauleiter" & "Leaders of the SS" (in 2012)", of this forum:

"And the third and final Gauleiter volume will include:
Part I: Pre Anschluss Gauleiters of the NSDAP in Austria
Dr. jur. utr. Georg Bilgeri
Andreas Bolek
Helmut Breymann
Dr. jur. Hermann Buchleitner..."

Yet there are other gauleiters from Austria who became such before 1938!

OK -- I understand now your questions. No, none of the illegal gauletiers nor the deputy gauleiters appear in Mike's 3rd Volume. They were originally going to be in the book but it became too large. Mike's plan is to include them in another volume. But I fear it may be years, if ever, it is published. Mike is now working on the SA books and they are his priority. Hence there is no biography of Buchleitner.

I'm with you on this. Most elusive NSDAP-Nr. ever.
Here's his entry from Gauleiter, Volume 3 (Fonthill Media, 2021). Not sure why most of the images are appearing sideways, as they are correctly oriented on my computer.
