Josef Bürckel's state funeral was held in Saarbrücken on October 4, 1944. Alfred Rosenberg was there representing Hitler and gave the eulogy. Also in attendance: Ley, Fiehler, von Schirach, Gauleiters Murr, Sprenger, Sauckel, Wahl, Scheel, Simon and Florian, and Stabschef Schepmann.

Rosenberg's eulogy, and a detailed description of the funeral, appeared on the front page of the VB for October 5, 1944.

Ludwig Siebert was given a lavish state funeral in the Congress Hall of the German Museum in Munich on November 7, 1942. Karl Fiehler gave the eulogy; Ritter von Epp represented Hitler and laid the Fuehrer's wreath in front of the bier. Present at the service: Frick, Goebbels, Rosenberg, Amann, Bormann, Ley, Schwarz, Bouhler, Buch, von Schirach, Hierl, Himmler, Lutze, Kraus, Schaub, Esser, Dorpmueller, Thierack, Backe, Schwerin von Krosigk and many other State and Party functionaries. (Virtually the entire Party leadership would have been in Munich on that day in preparation for the 9th of November ceremonies.)

Both Siebert's death and his funeral were heavily covered in the VB during November 1942.

Though he didn't get a state funeral, Anton Drexler's death in 1942 was nevertheless noted in the Nazi press...

State funeral of Gauleiter Adolf Wagner, 27 April 1944. Front row: X , Fiehler, Rosenberg, Amann, Hierl, Buch, and Himmler. Who is the "X"? And maybe the identification in the back row?

-Hans Kerrl was indeed afforded a state funeral upon his death!!! Adolf Hitler ordnet (ordered) his staatsbegräbnis the day after his untimely death! So, Hitler ordered his state funeral on (December 16, 1941).

Ambassador Leopold von Hoesch should also have been honored with a state funeral. He was probably the only Nazi official who was also honored with a ceremony in London. The photos are from Wilhelmshaven where Hoesch's body arrived on HMS Scout.
