An unknown officer
Re: An unknown officer
421, SA-Oberführer Werner Schwarz ?
Re: An unknown officer
414 - I would identify this diplomat as Viktor von Heeren (1881 - 1949), German envoy to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia from 1933 to 1941.

Br James:
We already covered this back on Feb 15th in this same thread -- see several posts above (#336-341) which you acknowledged that it was not Lorenz. I pointed out why it was not Dietrich.

Thanks for the reminder, painful as it is, Mark. I guess my memory is failing faster than I thought; perhaps I should bow out of further such questions?
But it still looks like Otto Dietrich to me!!

Don't do that. We need your expertise here. Half the time I can't remember what I had for lunch. Recently I spent an hour trying to remember the name of one my nieces - drew a blank on it. Getting old is really a pain.

While I don't recognize the man in question, I believe the location of this photo is the balcony of the Royal Palace in Berlin, across Unter den Linden from the Berliner Dom -- the Berlin Cathedral -- part of which appears in the far left of this photo.
I hope this is helpful.
