The Uiberreither photo is well known and is in the Leaders and Personalities book by Hamilton, but the Simon photo is not so common. Thanks for posting it.

At first glance in the upper picture (that Max correctly identified as Simon) I first thought it was a young Karl Wahl because the photo was so light colored and vaguely looked like him - Max's photo is darker hued with more pronounced facial lines and is easily identifiable as Gustav Simon. I make this post only because I can see where a person can misidentify a subject because of the quality of photo (lighter shades, hues etc...)...maybe I'm learning something about photos and identification.

Actually, it was Phil Nix (and Jost Schneider) who identified it as Simon. I just manipulated his photo a little to provide a clearer portrait on screen. The third photo (Simon) is mine.
And now you mention it, he does look like a young Wahl. However, if you compare the eyes in both photos you can see that they are slightly imbalanced in both portraits, indicating they are the same man. The mouth shape and ears are also the same.
Regards,
Max.

Just out of interest, here is an original Gauleiter uniform blouse once owned and worn by Schwede-Coburg. It has been in the collection of Ulric of England since the late 1960s.
