Phil,
-Thanks for the date!!! I knew Deuschl was appointed as Stellvertretender des Führer des NSDÄB in (1933), but I was unsure when his post as Geschäftsführer ended. I do not know who succeeded Deuschl in that post do you? Everything that I find on Hörmann seems to read like he and Deuschl shared Geschäftsführer duties. So, I do not know when Hörmann was given the Post or when he was released in that post. All I know for sure is that at sometime Hörmann held the Geschäftsführer post.

Phil,
-Thanks for the Grote info!!! It is hard to find info on Grote for some reason, but I did find a source that lists him as an SS-Standartenführer. In the book, "Der"Volkskörper" im Krieg" by Winfried Süss, Dr. Heinrich Grote is ranked as an SS-Standartenführer in (1939). When Gerhard Wagner died in (March 1939) SS-Standartenführer Dr. Heinrich Grote was in the running as an actual replacement for Wagner. Grote, Bartels, Blome, and Conti were all seen as possible replacements for Wagner. Conti was actually seen as the "Johnny come lately" in the contest by the Parteileitung (i.e. Bormann, Himmler, and Frick), but as we all know now Conti won!!! Do you have anymore bio info for Grote?

- I have found another interesting date in the NSDÄB!!! It appears that on (February 27,1943) it was either closed or allowed to operate with major restriction measures under action of Total War. I have been up in the air on the closure date for the NSDÄB for some time now!!! I know that Conti resigned from his Posts on (August 16,1944) and I thought that date was it's closure date. I am unsure if it was completely closed on (February 27,1943) or if it remained open with restrictions. It appears the NSV was given the same mandate on (February 27,1943). Does anyone out there know if the NSV was completely closed on that date or if it remained open with restictions? If the NSDÄB was allowed to remain operating after (February 27,1943) then it's death nail most certainly would have happened when Conti resigned on (August 16,1944). Can anyone give me a definitive answer on this topic?
