It may be a photo distortion, but what is the arm band they are all wearing? Does not seem to be a swastica and looks to distorted to be SS.

Any explanation of its significance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It is a simple photo distortion of the swastika. They are all wearing the standard party armband with the possible exception of Grimminger and the man next to him as they were SS. But it is too hard to see here whether they are wearing the SS black bordered band or the standard band in this photo. I believe in the 1933 march they were all wearing the standard band here.

Between Hitler and the Flag must be gauleiter Wagner, although he never participated in the hitlerputsch in Munich.
One of the men musst be Karl Beggel. Can somebody help me with that or has fotos of Beggel and his wife?

I think this picture was not taken in 1933. Because some of the persons wear the blood order. And this order was instituted on March 15th, 1934!.
Please don't forget Grimminger wearing the blood flag.

The man behind the Blood Flag is Göring, in his usual spot in the march. Göring always marched on Hitler's right. This is not 1933. Göring worn a long overcoat during the 1933 march.

The newspaper "Spiegel" is not correct in this case! I post some pictures of November 9th, 1933. The source is the Bildarchiv of http://www.bundesarchiv.de and http://www.bsb-muenchen.de.

Hello Helly Angel!
Your picture doesn't show the ceremony on November 9th, 1933. Göring didn't wear his coat! Also Streicher didn't wear his jacket (look at the pictures of mapugu). And Grimminger wear a black SS-uniform in 1933. In the first picture of this subject and in your picture Grimminger wear his brown shirt! And I do not think that he changed his uniform during the march from Löwenbräukeller to the Feldherrnhalle.

There are three "keys" in recognizing the 1933 march:
1) Göring wears his overcoat
2) Feder marches in the second row. The only time he did.
3) Rolf Reiner marches in the blood flag group. He was kicked out of the SS in June 1934. 1933 was his only time as well.
