Nice find trespasser! I have never seen a photo of Förster post-war or at trial. He looks like actor Albert Finney (a good one for the lounge thread "totally alike...").

Re: Albert Forster in Gdansk
Haha thanks! Yeah he has lost the short back and sides that most SS members had and seems like he has been imprisoned for a while!
I will look up Albert Finney for a comparison haha!
Regards.

Re: Albert Forster in Gdansk
Of course, that would be a "young" Albert Finney.

Above is a short vid of him at his trial. There is very little on Forster after 1946 when he was sent to Poland for trial but preety sure that he was hanged in Feb 1952. Why it took this long I am unaware and a lot of people for a long while believe he had survived. Being a very early member of the party I'm sure his interrogators would have had a field day.
BTW J.D I do agree with your Finney comparison having checked .

Re: Albert Forster in Gdansk
Considering all the people in the court who must despise him after his vicious ruling of Danzig from 1930-45. Although he could be somewhat referred to as a moderate Gauleiter compared to neighbours Greiser and Frank.

Re: Albert Forster in Gdansk
Film is awesome....high quality too. I agree. Förster ran his Gau the way he wanted to and "Germanised" the Poles en-masse with very little scientific racial scrutiny...if you looked German, had blondish hair, or were law abiding you got a accepted. Greiser bitched to Himmler constantly about Förster's loose criteria and ran his Gau according to strict selection processes. Some families who were split between the two Gaus had very different experiences. This was highlighted in the documentary "The Nazis" in the part called "The Wild East".

Re: Albert Forster in Gdansk
Is there any biographical text available on Forster? I can only find in German language.

Michael Miller's "Gauleiter, Volume 1," Bender Publishing, 2012, includes a fine 25-page biographical sketch of Gauleiter Albert Forster, including quite a few photos, and Miller's "Gauleiter, Volume 2," Bender Publishing, 2017, has a one-page addendum to the first volume's biography. Both volumes are in English.

Yes, Andrey. You are right. I wasn´t able to recognize anyone apart from Forster in the picture.
