Gauleiter Albert Forster 1902 - ?

#1

Post by Researcher » 15 May 2003, 17:26

Trying to find the date of death of Gauleiter Albert Forster.
Searching the web brings up 1948, 1950, and 1954.

All I know for sure he was convicted and sentenced to death by a Polish Court in Danzig : April 27th or 29th 1948.

Some say he was executed. Others have his sentence commuted to life imprisonment and he died on 31st March 1954.

Please can someone give the answer for sure?!

Correct date is: 28.2.1952. This date came from book Dieter Schenk - "Hitlers Mann in Danzig. Gauleiter Forster und die NS-Verbrechen in Danzig-Westpreussen." Date is correct in 100 % because in book is photo Forster's deceases act, which came from polish secret agency.

Dieter Schenk - "Hitlers Mann in Danzig. Gauleiter Forster und die NS-Verbrechen in Danzig-Westpreussen." Bonn 2000

Book was published in Germany & Poland (in USA or UK I don't know).
Book is a biography of Albert Forster. In book are some infos about Ebrecht and Schafer and others SS-men in Gau Danzig-Westpreussen. Book is very good!!!

Hi Greyfinn

Don't go to any trouble. We have established the execution date for sure.

Was the trial in Gdansk or Warsaw?
