NSDAP Office of the Reichsschatzmeister
The issue of the Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP was governed by an office of the Reichsschatzmeister Franz Xaver Schwarz. I believe this office was run by a Dr. Hartman(n) on a daily basis. Does anyone have any information about Dr. Hartman please?
Thanks,
Max.

Re: NSDAP Office of the Reichsschatzmeister
I have this info from 1942:
Hauptamt V, Rechtsamt
Leiter, Oberbefehlsleiter Dr. Anton Lingg
within this Hauptamt V was the Hauptmitgliedschaftsamt, Leiter (again), Oberbefehlsleiter Dr. Anton Lingg
within the Hauptmitgliedschaftsamt there was a Schiedsamt; Leiter, Reichsstellenleiter Otto Schneider.
Otto Schneider was responsible for Blutorden und Ehrenzeichen.
Hartman(n) isn't mentioned in Stockhorst, nor in the massive "Wanted. Die Fahndungsliste der US-Amerikaner 1945. Eine Million Deutscher im Visier der Sieger".

There was a Fritz Maier-Hartmann who was head of the Press office under the Reichsschatzmeister.

I had a letter requesting replacement GPBs. I also had Dr. Hartman's reply, enclosing the requested badges. It's definitely Hartman, dated November 1937.

I'd say that every second BDC-file in Berlin have these request for replacement GPBs. Very, very common request.

Max, as Halfdan writes, the replacement of GPBs was a constant occurrance and usually involved generic letters between Schwarz's office and respective Schatzmeisters. But to have a personal response would indicate someone special IMO. As I wrote on the other forum, Stellenleiter Anton Hartmann was his II Adjutant.
Re: NSDAP Office of the Reichsschatzmeister
I have an old note on my file to check for a connection to Schwarz's office for a GPB recipient SS-Stubaf Anton Hartmann (SS number 1226, NSDAP number 72004) born 31 Mar 1908 Bad Tölz. He was promoted SS-Stubaf on 30 Jan 1938 who was with Stab Oa Süd.
Maybe it was simply a replacement badge request or possibly he had signed a letter ??

Re: NSDAP Office of the Reichsschatzmeister
I have done some research on Anton Hartmann as I have one of his GPBs. He was II Adjutant to Schwarz in the late 1930s with the rank of Reichsstellenleiter. With the start of the war, he volunteered for the Waffen SS as a reserve officer and was assigned to economic related duties.Peter wrote:I have an old note on my file to check for a connection to Schwarz's office for a GPB recipient SS-Stubaf Anton Hartmann (SS number 1226, NSDAP number 72004) born 31 Mar 1908 Bad Tölz. Re: NSDAP Office of the Reichsschatzmeister
I check the Reichsschatzmeister office in both my 1936 and 1938 Party Handbuch. There were no doctors listed as department heads in 1936 except a Dr. Fritz Haepe as Deputy for Administrative Matters. In the 1938 listing, Hauptamt V (Rechtsamt) listed Dr. Arnold Haemmerle as the head of Amt für Mitgliedschaftswesen. No other doctors.Max Williams wrote:I had a letter requesting replacement GPBs. I check my party correspondence for SS-OGF Weitzel requests for new badges. He wrote directly to Schwarz. The only signed answer came from someone named Marquardt. No rank or anything. And it was dated Okt 1937. So I don't think you can assume the office was run by the man signing as Dr. Hartman.
