Hi, does someone know the story behind this picture? Is the SA member a victim of brawl with political opponents? The picture shows a heavily bandaged SA member of Sturm 14/Standarte 10, apparently being honoured, presumably for the action that resulted in him being wounded. Next to him stands an SS member wearing an early SS cap and an Iron Cross (1914) 1st Class. He also seems to wear a medical armband. On the reverse a stamp attributes the copyright to Press Illustration Hoffmann in Berlin. However, the right to print this picture has been bought for the week of August 12 to 19, 1934. The picture has been titled “Treue um Treue” (Loyalty for Loyalty), originally a Prussian army motto, also proposed by Hindenburg. It later became the official motto of paratroopers of the Luftwaffe and, to a lesser degree, the Wehrmacht Panzer troops.
