Post by Nina.Lasek » 11 Feb 2018, 20:48

Hello,
I am new to this forum - I would be very grateful for any information on the history and activities of the
SA-Standarte XI Dortmund / later SA-Standarte 98 (Westfalen), which was later named "Hallerman".
Specifically, I would be grateful for information on Conrad Schlüter (NSDAP party member 67916).

Cheers,
Nina

Hello Nina

SA-Standarte XI Dortmund was given the name "Hallermann" with SA Befehl of 17 September 1930.

In early 1931 the SA-Standarte 17 (Bochum) was raised with
I.Sturmbann in Bochum from Standarte V (Bochum)
II.Sturmbann in Herne, later Hattingen from Standarte IV "Ruhr"
III.Sturmbann in Dortmund from Standarte XI "Hallermann".

In 1932 the II.Sturmbann became the new SA-Standarte 99 in Hattingen and the III.Sturmbann became the new SA-Standarte 98 "Hallermann" in Dortmund.

From 1930 to 13.04.1932 Standarte XI, then III./SA-Standarte 17, was led by Franz Bauer, promoted to SA-Stubaf. on 01.12.1931.
On 01.07.32 Bauer was promoted to SA-Staf. and became the first commander of the new SA-Standarte 98 in Dortmund.

Hope this helps.

Regards from Madrid

An SA-Standarte 98 was created at Metz (annexed Lothringen) during the WW II. In memory of Metzer Infanterie Regiment 98 (1888 - 1914)

Hello Ignacio,
I noticed that you seem to have detailed knowledge about SA Standarte 17 (Bochum). In the Bochum Adressbuch of 1938 there is a SA Standarte 17 listed at the address Horst-Wesselstr. 1b. (the former Kanalstr. which was renamed Horst-Wesselstr. in 1933, til '45). This is in addition to several regular (private) persons residing at that address (according to the Strassenverzeichnis which lists all head of households per given street number.) I am wondering about the meaning of the listing of "SA Standarte 17" at that specific address. Would it be just one of many (and then many of what?) in Bochum? Or something more significant? Appreciate any information you can provide, incl. names, if possible. Pls don't assume any background knowledge except what I quickly tried to read up on the Internet just now.
Best regards from very snowy Canada
Barbara

Hello Barbara

The address was the "Sitz" of the Standarte headquarter.

By 15.06.36, Standarte 17 was in Bochum, Kortumstr. 93, and the Reservestandarte 17 was in Baarestrs. 1

By early November 1943 address of Standarte 17 in Bochum was Alleestr. 46.

Source are the SA Anschrifts-Verzeichnis. Hope this helps.

Ignacio
