A question regarding Chief of the Party Chancellery

Post by MisterRed1 » 30 May 2018, 11:08

So I've ran into a legal conundrum. Historically, Bormann had the authority to appoint anyone to any role he deemed necessary within the party and it's sub departments/organizations. Here's my dilema. Does this give him the ability to apoint a head of the Reich Chancellery, Cabinet Ministers, and other governmental offices (Barring obvious ones, like chancellor, vice chancellor, etc.)... Cause the Party essentially mandates the government and the government is the party....

A short answer to your question is NO. He did not have authority over any Govt ministers etc. And you are mistaken that the Party was the Govt. They were separate entities completely. Yes some individuals did have overlapping positions but their authorities were different.

Undestanding the complex net of ranks in NAZI germany is not easy task.
Lammers was superior of Bormann y goverment cabinet matters. Bormann was superior of Lammers in party matters.
Kurt Daluege was superior to Heydrich in SS rank. Heydrich was superior to Daluege as SD chief.
Bormann was superior of GOEBBELS as chief of all GAULEITERS . Goebbels was superior to Bormanm in precedence in third reich.
Göring was superior of every body after Hitler, but Keitel was superior of Göring in military matters.
