Andrey, many thanks for the timely reply, I believe this opens more questions than answers, I have found evidence that Hoppenrath was indeed the GAF of Arbeitsgau XXXIII before 1937 (In my opinion), around 1937 he was Generalarbeitsfuhrer of Gau XXX Bayern-Hochland, around 1940 he was then Generalarbeitsfuhrer of Arbeitsgau X Niederschlesien, a position formerly held by GAF Rudolf Roch, what strikes me is seeing him as GAF of Arbeitsgau XX, a position held by XXa Westfalen Nord, GAF P. Zimmerman and XXb Westfalen Sud, K. Kirchbaum, and at later date Arbeitsgau XX was held by GAF Preuschen..Here is a recent photo pick up that I believe is Hoppenrath, the car flag indicates Gau XXX, which would make sense (at least to me), looking forward to any thoughts on this subject, I have tried to make a spreadsheet of the interchanges of the GAF's but it is somewhat confusing, Again, many thanks for the reply, G

Hi Gwar,

I think RAD general on the your last photo (XXXIII) is Erwin Kahlen, RAD-Generalarbeitsführer XXXIII.

Could this be Hans Suren, based on the collar tabs / shoulder boards and medals ??
