Hello, I have a question, and I am looking for someone who might be able to find a few quotes for me. I wasn't sure of which board to put this question in, so I used this one.
I have been recently studying the the lives of Hitler and Stalin, and the Eastern Front of WW2. I remember seeing a quote a few years back somewhere, in which Stalin praised Hitler and National Socialism (I think it was from 1933 or 1934 when he said this). I can't remember what was said, but I remember it was on a Wikipedia page, and along with it was a quote from Adolf Hitler praising Stalin, and these quotes were from before 1941.
I was curious if anyone else had seen these quotes, find them, and test their validity?

Hi Steinadler,
Do you mean these: "They even appear, on occasion, to have admired each other’s ruthlessness. When, in 1934, Hitler ordered the murder of the leader of the Nazi storm troopers, Ernst Röhm, together with other opponents, Stalin remarked: “What a great fellow! How well he pulled this off!” And in May 1943, Hitler said he envied Stalin for the way he had “got rid of all opposition in the Red Army and thus ensured there is no defeatist tendency in the army”?
Cheers,
Sid,

Let us admire Stalin (22 July 1942)
If Stalin had been given another ten or fifteen years, Russia would have become the mightiest State in the world, and two or three centuries would have been required to bring about a change.
It is a unique phenomenon! He has raised the standard of living—of that there is no doubt; no one in Russia goes hungry any more. They have built factories where a couple of years ago only unknown villages existed—and factories, mark you, as big as the Hermann Goring Works. They have built railways that are not yet even on our maps. In Germany, we start quarreling about fares before we start building the line! I have read a book on I must admit, he is a tremendous personality, an ascetic who took the whole of that gigantic country firmly in his iron grasp.
…
Stalin too must command our unconditional respect. In his own way, he is a hell of a fellow!
He knows his models, Genghiz Khan, and the others, very well, and the scope of his industrial planning is exceeded only by our own Four Year Plan. And there is no doubt that he is quite determined that there shall be in Russia no unemployment such as one finds in such capitalist States as the United States of America.
