RAD Abteilung 4/34
RAD Abteilung 4/34
I'm looking for any information about RAD Abteilung 4/34, which was stationed in Seenbrück between 1942 and 1944, now Stęszew in Poland.
Below is what I have been able to find and determine so far about RAD abt. 4/34:
1. Arbeitsgau III Wartheland-West
2. Arbeitsgruppen 34
3. Abteilung 4
4. Feldpost numbers: 42162 (30.7.1941-28.2.1942) RAD-Abteilung 4/34
5. Amtliches Fernsprechbuch 1942a Posen - Telephone number RAD Abt. 4/34 - 39
6. Litzmannstädter Zeitung Nr. 98, Freitag 7. April 1944 - short press article
7. Aerial photo dated 31.05.1941 - view of RAD camp
8. Several photographs described as Seenbrück
Some information can certainly be found in chapter III of the book "Davongekommen: ein ehrlicher Rückblick auf dunkle Zeiten" Haag + Herchen, Frankfurt am Main 2005 by Günther Ebert, which I am still looking for.
Maybe someone has some other information about RAD Abt. 4/34?

Not sure if it is of interest to you, but looks like that camp was located at--
52.292122N, 16.728722E
in case you are interested in how the area looks today.

Re: RAD Abteilung 4/34
Berns393, did you ask in the FdW before ?

Re: RAD Abteilung 4/34
Hans1906, yes it was me who asked on FdW. Unfortunately, no response.
Re: RAD Abteilung 4/34
That was obvious, and it would be helpful for further responses to post the non-information.
No offense intended, but avoids further confusion.
The best of luck for your research!
Are you familiar with the commonly known *.pdf files about the RAD on the Internet, these answer most questions ?

Start with:
Michael Hansen / "Idealisten" und "gescheiterte Existenzen".
Das Führerkorps des Reichsarbeitsdienstes
PDF, 469 pages, from the year 2004
Link: https://ubt.opus.hbz-nrw.de/opus45-ubtr ... ngsübungen"
A complete list of links would be endless, you have to write what you already know, and what you don't, so...
Also, it should be very clear to you, that 95% of all references and links are only available in German.
Not even to talk about the books at all...
AHF member Herr Michael Jonas is the expert, a RAD "Encyclopedia", without question.

Re: RAD Abteilung 4/34
Thanks for the help. I know that most of the material is in German. I have read some of the files on general RAD topics. Unfortunately, I have not yet found a study on the RAD units from Arbeitsgruppen 34, which included Abteilung 4 from Seenbrück.

@Berns393
Nice photos, thanks for posting them. I suspected there might be some ruins from the buildings still extant.
