In a book I have from year 1947 which is about the process att Nürnberg there is a photo of one of Streichers sons after he have visited his father, the caption of the photo says that he also was a SS-Obersturmführer. To me it´s a bit strange how he as a SS-Ostuf walking around in civilian clothes and can visit his father when all other SS-members still was kept in POW camps. The photo isn´t from 1947 only the book.

Best reg.

It almost upsets me to see pictures of some of these children. Edda Göring was such a gorgeous little girl, and as horrible as he was, you could tell Hermann loved her very much. I've seen pictures of Wolf and Rudolf Hess, and they're the few pictures I've ever seen of Rudolf where he's smiling genuinely, not in that weird maniacal way he usually did. And like Edda, Wolf was a beautiful child. None of these children could choose what their parents did, so for some of them I do feel sympathy. For others, who decided to follow in their footsteps, I feel no sympathy.

PS-What I would like to see are any pictures of Kaltenbrunner's kids. I want to see if they inherited their father's height!

Yes, I believe it does upset many people seeing the children. I think they would have very difficult
lives even in their old age.

I remember Edda saying she felt like she somewhat profitted from her name more than having it be a burden. Or at least she said she faired better than Gudrun Himmler.

Recently saw a documentary 'Bloodlines' regarding the Göring family, on ABC1 in Australia. (It seemed to involve his grandniece). See links below:

Interesting.....I read about Bettina a few months ago. She is a free spirit, a seemingly nice person overall and apparently very spiritual. She is quite removed from her great uncle in every way so I guess she is just trying to make the world a better place by atoning for the wrongs of an ancestor. Her suggestion that she is somehow innately "evil" by blood is ridiculous and is actually giving a nod to Nazi "blood" theories, which suggested that a person was automatically a born criminal because of one's ancestral heritage. No, no, no....

There is a similar upcoming TV special on PBS in December titled "Inheritance" which concerns a meeting between Nazi
SS Commandant Amon Goeth (of "Schindler's List" fame) - his daughter - meets with one of the Schindler Jews (Helen Hirsch? Goeth's "maid") - they meet to discuss her father, his crimes, and the sufferings he inflicted, trying to heal the wounds, come to grips with the woman's father etc....

When you open the "post reply" window, you will see an "upload attachment" option at the bottom of the window. When you click it, you will an option to browse your computer to find photos to upload. You may have to reduce them in size to meet the Forum's size limit.

Very interesting! It's actually somewhat creepy, but I find in his picture, Fegelein looks like Bruce Boxleitner.....

Does anyone know how Edda Göring has faired now that she has matured and where she lives?

I last read in the book My Father's Keeper that she used to live in München but that I believe was in the seventies? I wonder now her outlook on that period of time. I read that she loves him very much and I doubt that would change as he was a good Father to her.

Also read that Göring's niece Bettina.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... nster.html

mentions a film to be this year and wondering what happened to it?

'The hardest part is admitting that I could have liked him. I was so shocked by that,' she said. 'Now I am accepting myself more for who I am, whatever that encompasses - the good, the bad and the ugly.'
'The film is due to be completed later this year.
