Homosexuality in the third Reich

#1

Post by Wilfried Abenaschon » 09 Jul 2002, 01:37

:D
I've seen a documentary about this subject on the English TV 2 weeks ago. Alas, it was rather disappointing as we didn't learnt anything new (apart that there were some gays in the SS ; what a discovery !!! :P The narrator even said that two servicemen kissed in the lift of the headquarters of the SS, Prinzalbertstrasse near the office of Reichseini !...
Not a single word about the SS general Kurt Wittje who was a close associate of the Ordenmeister neither a word about some speeches where the RF-SS talked about this matter. :x
These documentaries are sometimes good, very good though.

I have a book "The Pink Swastika" by Scott Lively and Kevin Abrams.

It is about Homosexuality in the Nazi Party.

It is complete rubbish.

It is historically inacurate, opinionated and baseless.

DO NOT BUY OR BOTHER READING THIS BOOK.

In a word - "crap".

Roehm, of course, was an aggressive homosexual. I have read that Leutnant Rossbach, of Freikorps fame, introduced Roehm to that practice. Also, the Gauleiter of Upper or was it Lower, Silesia, was cashiered for bisexuality. There is a distinction between homosexuality and homophilia but the latter was rife in the party. And certainly in the SA. Hitler referred to it, obliquely, in his speech after the Night of the Long Knives. Regards, F.

I actually I do read what people say, however, just because most people seem to think the book is rubbish (I have not read it myself), does not mean that others might not find it interesting.

There were certainly plenty of homosexuals within the Nazi party and even in the leadership elite of the party. But as time went by Hitler and Himmler increasingly became concerned by this and launched a vigorous campaign against homosexuality. Gays were sent to the camps or simply killed.
